Trac&Document Management
Overview of the solution:
The solution integrates in the Trac tool, plugins that allow managing the documentation of the project.
Co-Design Challenges Addressed:
The Trac ad Subversion tools don't have the funcionality of managing the documentation generated in the project.
Additional Information:
Though Subversion and Trac are very useful and powerful tools some of the functionalities that the developer can perform can be improved by the use of external third-party plug-ins. The plug-ins and enhancements that have been identified as useful are the following.
- Visual SVN http://www.visualsvn.com : VisualSVN Server is a package that contains everything you need to install, configure and manage Subversion server for your team on Windows platform. It includes Subversion, Apache and a management console.
- WebAdmin for Trac http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/WebAdmin : This plugin is available for administering Trac projects through the web interface. This plugin is still under development, but it already supports most of the tasks performed by trac-admin.
- Setup the Emailing Notifications: Trac supports notification about ticket changes via email. Email notification is useful to keep users up-to-date on tickets/issues of interest, and also provides a convenient way to post all ticket changes to a dedicated mailing list
- TortoiseSVN http://tortoisesvn.net/ : This cannot be considered as a plug-in but a complete tool. TortoiseSVN is a Subversion client, implemented as a Microsoft Windows shell extension. It is free software released under the GNU General Public License.
