HoR The House Of Requirements

The House of Requirements covers a very tricky task during the developement process: the requirements capturing and management. Datapixel has tested the HoR has been the need to organise the sources of the requirements and the allocation of these requirements in HW or SW. In past projects this allocation was handled within word documents and tables following to a not-intuitive and maintainable format.

The HoR offers a comprehensive way to organise requirements that will be implemented in HW or SW and add the relationship information between them. How any change in the requirement allocation affects the rest can be easily analysed with the tables that contain these requirements.
The HoR has improved how this allocation has been handled. In fact, during the development process we have faced the situation where requirements allocation had to be changed due to performance issues in the prototyping phase. The use of HoR needs still some more use to find areas to improve but has enhanced the feeling of confidence when allocating and re-allocating requirements.
